Rainbow Six Siege Operation Split Fire mid-season update

Rainbow Six Siege Mid-Season Update: Legend Division, 50,000 Ban Wave and Doktor’s Curse Rewards

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Split Fire mid-season update

Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Split Fire mid-season update is live, adding the elite Legend Division, major Operator balance changes, a new Ranked map rotation and the return of Doktor's Curse. Ubisoft also confirmed a ban wave affecting more than 50,000 accounts and expanded PC security requirements for the new competitive playlist.

The update launched on 15 October 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Here is the confirmed content, the eligibility rules that matter, and the limited-time rewards available during the Halloween event.

Rainbow Six Siege mid-season update highlights

  • Legend Division is live as a new solo-queue playlist above Champion
  • More than 50,000 accounts were hit in a targeted ban wave
  • Noor received substantial Horus Lance buffs
  • Doktor's Curse returns through 2 November with challenges, a free Event pack and Twitch Drops
  • A fresh Ranked map rotation is active, and Ubisoft says this will be the final season using the current rotation system

These details come from Ubisoft's official Operation Split Fire update. They are confirmed changes, not leaks.

What is the new Legend Division?

Legend Division is a new high-end competitive playlist intended for players who have already reached Champion. It is solo queue only and uses the Pro League map pool, putting individual consistency ahead of pre-made team coordination.

The Year 11 Season 3 run is scheduled to remain open until 1 December 2026. Ubisoft says the playlist will reopen with each mid-season update and reset alongside the normal seasonal rank reset.

Legend Division entry requirements

Access is deliberately strict. Players must meet every listed security and progression condition:

  • Secure Boot enabled
  • Two-factor authentication through an authenticator app
  • Current Champion rank
  • Clearance Level 200 or higher
  • Platinum rank or higher in the previous season
  • Reputation Standing level three or higher

The rewards include a Profile Banner and an exclusive charm for the top 100 players in each region. That makes Legend Division both a new competitive endpoint and a cosmetic chase for Siege's strongest solo players.

50,000-account ban wave and Secure Boot

Ubisoft says a ban wave affecting more than 50,000 accounts went into effect ahead of Legend Division. The action targeted account sharing, account sellers and ban evaders. The figure is significant because the new playlist places extra value on identity, progression history and a player's security setup.

Eligible PC players must also enable Secure Boot for Legend Division. Ubisoft describes the feature as part of R6 ShieldGuard's anti-cheat approach: it helps verify that firmware, Windows and drivers loaded at startup are legitimate. Players who need to change TPM or Secure Boot settings should follow instructions for their own motherboard or PC manufacturer rather than copying a generic BIOS guide.

Noor buffs and other balance changes

Noor receives the largest set of changes. Horus Lance drilling time falls from two seconds to 1.5 seconds across soft surfaces, reinforced surfaces and ballistic shields. Guardbreak strength against shield Operators rises from 30% to 100%, equip time drops from 0.9 seconds to 0.4 seconds, and direct-impact damage increases from 50 to 80. The projectile can also damage shield Operators during the shield-removal animation.

Tachanka's Shumika Launcher now switches between Impact and Bounce modes. Snake's precision charges fall from four to three, Valkyrie gains the Glaive-12 secondary weapon, and several fire and shield interactions have been adjusted. The net effect is a mid-season patch aimed at making counters more reliable while trimming a few high-value tools.

Doktor's Curse dates, rewards and Twitch Drops

Doktor's Curse is available now through 2 November 2026. The Halloween mode returns as 5v5 hide and seek in Doktor's Lab, a modified version of Clubhouse. Hunters use altered gadgets and hammers, while Monsters rely on modified Operator gadgets and Nightstride invisibility.

The event brings an expanded Operator roster, bundles for Grim, Hibana and Mute, an Event Signature Bundle and two Weapon Skin bundles. Ubisoft lists a 33-item collection that culminates in an M590A1 shotgun Event Memento Masterpiece.

Players can also complete in-game challenges, claim a free Event pack and earn Twitch Drops. Ubisoft's announcement does not list a universal watch-time table, so confirm the active campaign and account-linking status on Twitch before leaving a stream running. CODSKINS tracks similar opportunities in its latest gaming promotions hub, and the promo codes collection is available for live offers across supported games.

New Ranked map rotation

The Pro pool now includes Border, Bank, Chalet, Clubhouse, Villa, Fortress, Kafe, Lair and Nighthaven. Additional Ranked maps are Oregon, Coastline, Consulate, Kanal, Outback and Casino.

More importantly, Ubisoft says Operation Split Fire will be the final season to use the current Ranked Map Rotation system. The publisher has not detailed the replacement yet, only that the next approach will better reflect player preferences. Any claimed future map list should therefore be treated as unverified until Ubisoft publishes it.

Where to play the update

The mid-season update is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as through Ubisoft+. If you are shopping for other PC titles, CODSKINS also maintains a full game keys collection; check platform and region details on every listing before buying.

For Siege players, the immediate priorities are clear: verify Legend Division eligibility, review the Noor and shield changes, and claim the time-limited Doktor's Curse rewards before the event closes on 2 November.
