Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 enters its biggest Beta period yet today, August 28, 2026, as Weekend Two opens the test to every supported player.
Unlike the Early Access period that ran during Weekend One, no preorder and no MW4 Beta access code are required for the Open Beta. Activision confirms that Weekend Two begins at 10:00 AM PT / 6:00 PM BST on August 28 and is scheduled to end at the same time on September 1.
That makes this weekend particularly important for anyone interested in collecting the limited MW4 Beta cosmetics, because the progression cap increases to Level 30, allowing every core Beta reward to be earned before the event ends.
All Modern Warfare 4 Beta Rewards
Activision has confirmed eight main rewards tied to Player Level progression.
Players returning from Weekend One can continue their progress, while new Open Beta players can start from Level 1 and work through the complete reward track. The cosmetics you successfully unlock remain tied to your Activision Account and are intended to become available when Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026. Normal Beta Player Level progression itself will reset when the Beta ends.
- Level 4: Through the Paces Legendary Emblem
- Level 8: First Served Weapon Charm
- Level 12: Meonjeo Legendary Weapon Sticker
- Level 16: Last Charge Legendary Calling Card
- Level 20: Dread Tiger Operator Skin for Reece
- Level 23: Field Tested Epic Spray
- Level 26: Beta Rights Epic Loading Screen
- Level 30: Beta Forged Weapon Blueprint
For most collectors, the two headline rewards will be the Dread Tiger Operator Skin at Level 20 and Beta Forged at Level 30.
An Important Beta Forged Blueprint Update
There is currently an unusual inconsistency across Activision's own official MW4 pages.
The current Weekend Two information states that the Level 30 Beta Forged reward is a blueprint for the Han 86 Assault Rifle.
However, Activision's newer Player Progression guide lists the Level 30 reward as the Beta Forged ISO Nightshade SMG Weapon Blueprint.
Because both descriptions currently appear on official Call of Duty pages, we would not treat either weapon assignment as completely settled until Activision corrects or clarifies the conflicting information.
What is confirmed is that Beta Forged itself is the Level 30 Beta reward.
MW4 Weekend Two Raises the Level Cap to 30
Weekend One stopped progression at Level 20, which meant players could earn the Dread Tiger skin but could not reach the final three reward milestones.
Weekend Two raises the cap to Level 30, unlocking the remaining rewards at Levels 23, 26 and 30.
Players should also check their Daily Challenges to maximise XP and use the Progression screen under Career Profile to keep track of upcoming unlocks. Create a Class becomes available at Level 4.
Anyone who wants the complete collection therefore needs to reach Level 30 before the Open Beta closes.
Warzone Zodiac Resurgence Joins the MW4 Beta
Weekend Two is not only about Multiplayer.
For the first time, Activision is also using a Call of Duty Beta to preview Warzone Resurgence, with players dropping onto a completely new map called Zodiac.
Infinity Ward describes Zodiac as a South Korean weapons manufacturing facility located within the wider setting of Modern Warfare 4. The map contains 10 distinct points of interest, including Old Mine, Solar, Trackline and a sewer network.
Environmental features include moving solar panels, furnace conveyor belts, trains and multi-level combat areas.
The Beta launches with Resurgence Quads, with Casual Resurgence Quads rotating into the playlist during the testing period.
There will be no Custom Loadouts during this test. Instead, players will use curated default loadouts and ground-loot versions of the MW4 weapon arsenal.
Infinity Ward says Warzone-specific adjustments have also been made to damage ranges, bullet velocity, ADS speeds, sprint-to-fire speeds and movement.
More MW4 Beta Rewards Through Twitch
The level progression track is not the only source of limited cosmetics.
Activision has also confirmed three MW4 Beta Twitch Drops:
- 15 minutes: Get Tactical Emblem
- 30 minutes: Clearing House Calling Card
- 45 minutes: Action Ready Charm
There are also additional rewards tied to the Mobility Course and Combat Record, while some other challenge rewards remain officially classified.
Major MW4 Gameplay Changes Are Still Coming
Infinity Ward has also confirmed that further Multiplayer changes are being prepared for Weekend Two.
The studio specifically named time-to-kill, movement, weapons, spawns and global aim-assist changes, with full Multiplayer patch notes due alongside the Open Beta.
These are confirmed areas being adjusted, but the exact changes should not be assumed until Infinity Ward publishes the full update.
