Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Hajin map and extraction guide – CODSKINS

Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Hajin Map: POIs, Threats & Progression

Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ is taking players to Hajin, a persistent extraction zone built around looting, objectives, AI threats, rival Operators and the constant risk of losing what you carry. Activision’s first full Tour of Duty briefing, published on 5 October 2026, gives the clearest look yet at how the mode’s map, progression loop and danger systems fit together.

The new official breakdown is more than a simple map reveal. It confirms a dedicated DMZ level track, an evolving Forward Operating Base, threat ratings for different locations, dynamic objectives, boss hunts, vehicles that require fuel and repairs, and an after-action grade that rewards balanced play. Here is what matters before the first deployment.

What is the MW4 DMZ Hajin map?

Hajin is Modern Warfare 4’s main DMZ Exclusion Zone: a large open environment divided between dense city districts, farmland, mountains, industrial infrastructure, waterways and hazardous facilities. The mode remains an extraction shooter, so squads enter the map to gather gear, complete operations, fight AI and human enemies, then reach an exfil point before conditions become too dangerous.

The key difference from a standard multiplayer map is persistence. Successful extractions feed resources back into your Forward Operating Base, or FOB, where you prepare Operators and gear for future deployments. Failure can cost the equipment carried into the zone, while progress across the wider DMZ structure continues through Orders, levels and FOB upgrades.

How MW4 DMZ progression works

DMZ Orders, Dynamic Operations and Side Ops

DMZ Orders act as structured mission directives. They introduce the mode’s systems, advance its narrative and reward players for completing specific objectives. Orders can be checked at the FOB before deployment and tracked from the Tac-Map once a run begins.

Dynamic Operations create shorter, repeatable objectives inside Hajin. Players can select one before infil or activate an operation from a phone found in the zone. Successful completions award DMZ XP and Cash, followed by a Supply Drop. Activision says the drop improves from Common to Uncommon and then Rare as more Dynamic Operations are completed during the same deployment.

Side Ops are lower-intensity activities. Examples include recovering lost Supply Drops, repairing vehicles and climbing radio towers to reveal a Lieutenant’s general position. They offer another route to XP, resources and reconnaissance without forcing every squad directly into a boss fight.

Dedicated levels and Dog Tag progression

DMZ has its own progression track from level 1 to 70. The official guide says levels unlock Printer Recipes, FOB stations and other rewards. Dog Tags also rise through 18 grades, from Steel to Onyx III, with an Operator Trait awarded each time the tag levels up.

The after-action report grades a deployment from F to S++ across Objectives, Combat and Looting. It separately records AI kills, missions completed, containers opened and Side Ops finished. That design encourages a rounded run rather than rewarding only eliminations or passive looting.

Hajin threat levels and enemy types

Each point of interest has a visible Threat Level. The rating starts at Low and can rise through more dangerous states to Extreme as fighting escalates. Crucially, the indicator accounts for AI opposition but not enemy players. A district marked Low can therefore still contain an Operator ambush.

Stealth can prevent an area from spiralling into a heavier response. Suppressed fire, throwing knives and melee eliminations reduce the chance of detection, while breaking line of sight and leaving the area can allow local aggression to cool down.

Confirmed AI threats include four tiers of North Korean soldiers, drone swarms, autonomous LMG drones, K9 quadrupeds, infantry helicopters and road convoys. Named boss categories include Lieutenants and Commanders such as Colossus, Deathstalker and a main battle tank. Activision also lists at least one threat as classified, leaving room for a launch surprise.

Major Hajin POIs revealed

Activision says Hajin contains more than 60 named locations. The first briefing highlights several major zones:

  • 14th Political Prison: a high-threat prison complex in the northwest, with the Critical-rated Citadel at its centre.
  • Imjin Farmland: a lower-threat floodplain with long sightlines, waterways, a loading dock and a rice mill.
  • Mirae General Hospital: a central multi-level medical complex suited to close-quarters fighting.
  • Hanuel Nuclear Reactor: a radiological danger zone where gas masks and protective equipment are essential.
  • The Grid: a fortified city district containing multiple Critical or Extreme locations, skyscraper rooftops and blocked streets.
  • Songdo Wharf: a comparatively low-threat coastal area with rail access, apartments, a market, piers and small islands.
  • Hajin River Heights: a medium-threat residential district south of Wolves Stadium.

The contrast matters for route planning. New squads can build resources around farmland and the wharf, while experienced teams may target the prison, reactor or The Grid for more dangerous engagements and potentially stronger loot.

Vehicles, exfil and map tools

Hajin supports land, sea and air travel. Unlike Warzone vehicles, DMZ transport has limited armour and fuel, and must be repaired or refuelled at Gas Stations. The list includes civilian cars, tactical trucks, patrol boats, helicopters and heavier military vehicles.

Standard exfil points are not the only way out. The briefing confirms alternate extraction methods using a Fulton balloon or flare. Both can expose a squad: exfil sites attract ambushes, and flares are visible and audible from long range.

The Tac-Map marks objectives, compounds, key buildings, caches, radiation, pings and other tactical information. UAV Towers can reveal nearby AI and Operators, SAM Sites can be captured to attack hostile aircraft, and Bounty Stations let players review human targets or pay off a bounty on themselves.

What is confirmed — and what is still unknown?

Confirmed: Hajin’s overall extraction loop, level 1–70 progression, the evolving FOB, Orders, Dynamic and Side Operations, threat ratings, named POIs, enemy categories, vehicle fuel and repair rules, alternate exfils and the after-action grading system all come directly from Activision’s 5 October briefing.

Still pending: Activision says a second Tour of Duty article will detail every FOB station, 3D Printer crafting, weapon acquisition, Stashes, Active Duty Operators, Operator Prestige, permanent Prestige Traits and the full progression structure. Exact launch-day balance, loot probabilities and any classified encounters have not yet been fully published.

Prepare for Modern Warfare 4

Hajin appears designed to make every deployment a routing decision: push a high-threat objective for faster progression, stay quiet and build resources, hunt other Operators, or extract before radiation and enemy escalation close the window.
