Gears of War E-Day 20th anniversary free RAAM event cover

Gears of War E-Day 20th Anniversary: Free RAAM & Rewards

Gears of War: E-Day has started a two-week 20th anniversary celebration featuring limited-time multiplayer and Horde content, plus a free RAAM character for every E-Day player. The Coalition confirmed the event on 6 November 2026, one day before the franchise’s anniversary.

The anniversary update is more than a login gift. It brings back Guardian for Versus, introduces a tougher “For the Queen” Horde Siege variant and previews the next seasonal update. Here is what is confirmed, how to claim RAAM and what players can expect next.

How to claim the free RAAM character

Every Gears of War: E-Day player is being gifted a RAAM multiplayer character on 7 November 2026. The official instructions are simple: log into E-Day and the character should be claimed instantly.

There is no challenge path or purchase requirement in the announcement. If the reward does not appear immediately, make sure the game is fully updated and reconnect to the online services before checking the character selection screen again.

The giveaway is especially notable because General RAAM has been central to Gears since the original game. The reward is cosmetic multiplayer content; it does not add a new campaign mission or alter competitive balance.

Guardian returns as a limited-time Versus mode

The anniversary playlist includes Guardian, the classic team mode built around protecting a designated leader. Eliminations are temporary while a team’s leader remains alive, but once that leader is defeated, the opposing side can close out the round by removing the remaining players.

That structure creates a different rhythm from standard elimination modes. Aggressive players need to pressure the enemy leader without leaving their own exposed, while defensive teams must avoid becoming trapped. Communication and spawn awareness matter as much as raw mechanical skill.

For the Queen changes Horde Siege

The second major anniversary activity is For the Queen, a Horde Siege variant that disables the supply cache. Players must rely on their starting loadouts rather than using the usual source of extra equipment.

Removing the cache makes team composition and ammunition management more important. Before starting a run, decide who will handle close-range pressure, who will control lanes and who will conserve heavy firepower for the most dangerous waves. The modifier is simple, but it changes the choices made between every encounter.

How long is the anniversary event?

The Coalition describes the celebration as a two-week event. Because the update was announced and activated around 6 November, players should prioritise Guardian and For the Queen while the playlists are available rather than assuming they are permanent additions.

The free RAAM character is presented as an anniversary gift for E-Day players. The announcement does not specify a separate store price or challenge deadline, so the safest approach is to log in during the celebration and claim it immediately.

Season 2: Legacy starts on 1 December

The same update also confirms that Season 2: Legacy launches on 1 December 2026. It is set to add fan-favourite maps, modes and skins, as well as the Solemn Memories Dom character.

Exact map and mode lists were not included in the anniversary post, so any unofficial roster should be treated as a rumour until The Coalition publishes the full season notes. The 1 December date and the broad content categories are confirmed.

Extra Gears E-Day rewards at CODSKINS

Players looking for additional promotional cosmetics can browse the Gears of War: E-Day codes and DLC collection. Current listings include the Liquid Death rewards code and the Pizza Emblem code for Xbox and Steam.

Those codes are separate promotions and are not required to receive the free RAAM anniversary character. Our Liquid Death rewards guide explains that campaign if you want to compare the available extras.

Confirmed facts versus speculation

Confirmed: the two-week anniversary event, Guardian, the supply-cache-free For the Queen Horde Siege variant, the free RAAM character on 7 November and the 1 December launch of Season 2: Legacy.

Not yet confirmed: a complete Season 2 map list, every returning skin, or any extension to the anniversary playlists. Until official patch notes add more detail, avoid treating data-mined or social-media claims as final.

For now, the priority list is straightforward: update E-Day, log in for RAAM, try Guardian and For the Queen, then watch for the full Season 2 roadmap ahead of 1 December.
