EA FC 27 Update 1.0.3 Grounds fixes guide

EA FC 27 Update 1.0.3: Grounds Fixes & Winner Stays Plans

EA SPORTS FC 27 Update 1.0.3 is now live, bringing targeted fixes to Ultimate Team, The Grounds, Career Mode and several stability issues. EA also published a separate developer update on 2 October 2026 explaining how it plans to improve The Grounds after reviewing launch data and player feedback.

The important distinction is that some changes are already available in version 1.0.3, while features such as Winner Stays and cross-server Kickabout support are only being explored. This guide separates the live fixes from EA’s longer-term plans.

EA FC 27 Update 1.0.3 at a glance

  • Status: Live now
  • Release date: 2 October 2026
  • Main improvements: More reliable Grounds matchmaking, restored five-star skill moves in affected modes, Ultimate Team fixes and stability work
  • Planned rather than confirmed: Winner Stays streaks, improved Kickabout grouping and scheduled Kickabout events

EA describes 1.0.3 as a small bug-fix update, but several changes address problems that could interrupt matches or force a restart. Players should install the latest version before troubleshooting a recurring issue.

Every confirmed EA FC 27 Update 1.0.3 fix

Ultimate Team

The update fixes a Moments loading screen that could leave players needing to restart the game. It also corrects unintended Squad Battles match-setting changes and an issue that could cause female managers to appear incorrectly during cutscenes.

The Grounds

Matchmaking reliability has been improved. EA has also restored five-star skill moves in the affected modes and fixed a Goal Control Kickabout problem that could leave players stuck against a wall.

Career Mode

Manager Career players should no longer see happy, high-morale footballers secretly request transfers without a warning message or complaint. That was especially confusing because it could make squad-management decisions appear disconnected from the visible morale system.

General, audio and visual changes

EA has updated selected kits, stadium themes and text, fixed a Club Transfers issue that could duplicate a transferred player, and addressed several unspecified stability problems.

The complete list comes from EA’s official Title Update 1.0.3 notes.

What EA is planning for The Grounds

EA says small-sided football has attracted strong activity across 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 and In-World Rush. That popularity has had an unintended effect: players are finding it harder to gather enough people for some of the other activities, particularly Kickabouts.

Winner Stays and visible win streaks

Players and streamers are already tracking unofficial streaks, so EA is exploring a built-in Winner Stays experience. The concept would let a winning player or team remain on a pitch and build a visible streak, giving casual matches a clearer sense of continuity and competition.

This is not a confirmed feature with a release date. EA says design work has begun, but it will only share more when those investigations lead to concrete plans.

Kickabout matchmaking and queue improvements

The development team is considering several ways to make Kickabouts easier to start. Ideas include letting players signal that a gameplay site needs more participants, connecting players across servers without removing them from the world experience, and running scheduled Kickabout events that concentrate the player population at set times.

Again, these are options under investigation rather than promised additions. Players should not treat them as part of Update 1.0.3.

Current Grounds issues EA is still investigating

EA’s launch update lists several unresolved or in-testing problems:

  • Incorrect Archetype Point costs for certain upgrades are under investigation.
  • Erratic goalkeeper behaviour in 1v1 is under investigation.
  • A fix for Stadium and Clubhouse portal access is being tested.
  • A fix for preferred positions not applying correctly in 11v11 drop-ins is being tested.
  • Opening the world map while queued and the map input unexpectedly opening the Season Pass are both being tested.
  • Slow or unresponsive Grounds menus remain under active review.

High ping in some cross-region Clubs matches has already been addressed, according to EA. Long-term fatigue was also reintroduced to Clubs 11v11 in the earlier 1.0.1 update after feedback that infinite stamina could favour larger Clubs.

Does Update 1.0.3 change Ultimate Team rewards?

No new packs, objectives or promotional items were announced with this patch. The Ultimate Team changes are technical fixes rather than new content. Existing promotional-code rewards remain separate from game updates.

CODSKINS players looking for current code-based items can use the EA SPORTS FC 27 codes and rewards guide, browse the Red Bull Wings Cup reward code, or check the Burger King Golden FUT Pack code. Those promotions are not included automatically with Update 1.0.3.

What players should do now

Install the update, restart the game and test any previously affected mode again. Ultimate Team players should revisit Moments and Squad Battles, while Grounds players can check whether matchmaking and five-star skill moves now behave correctly. Career Mode managers affected by unexpected transfer requests should continue from a save after updating and monitor squad messages.

Everything described as live above is confirmed in EA’s official patch notes. Winner Stays, cross-server connections and scheduled Kickabouts remain exploratory ideas without release dates. For more verified updates and reward coverage, visit the CODSKINS gaming news and guides hub.
